Nothingness- A poem about hope.

Like black paint
Or a blindfold
No sight, just
Nothingness
Footsteps
Dark tunnel surrounds me
In every direction, midnight
Never to see the light of day
All we can do
Is walk
Walk down a never-ending
Tunnel of
Despair and darkness
Whispers of hate
Fill my ears
I can't stop
Just walk
While the light in my eyes
Slowly fades
Melting fast
Like my will to live
Nothingness
Dulled by hate
And destined
To walk forever
Down this tunnel
Where the rocks poke at my toes
And I am alone
Until
One dot
Less than a dot, so small, faint
But still there
Light
Life surges once again
Through my bones
Wild as rivers
I run a bit
Growing nearer, it's still there
Not an illusion, real thing.
Many miles off
Walking again, but now
With a light in my chest
A small light, known as hope
One day I shall be there
Out of the gloom
Misery
Silence
Until then I shall hope
Though the Nothingness still reigns.
